We asked about dinner when we were buying our tickets and found out you can ride free and have a sunset dinner for only a few dollars more than the cost of the gondola ride. We enjoyed the ride up the gondola, took a lot of pictures from the deck and walked up the boardwalk before dinner. The food was pretty good but the sunset views were spectacular. So, 2 suggestions:1. If you're planning to go, go about 2 hours before sunset and book the dinner so your ride is included for only a little more than the gondola ride.2. At the dinner, make sure you get a table on the opposite side of the sunset so the light won-t be in your eyes and you can watch the light fad away in the mountains and valley below. It is beautiful.

Before you go, check that the view will be good( no low lying clouds). The ride to the station is amazing, you have a 360 view. When you arrive you walk outside around the building and it is easy picture taking. They have built a boardwalk across the ridge ,which has many ups and downs. The walk is at your leisure, so it is not hard to do for most people. We walked up to the top of Sulppher Mtn. And we're rewarded with spectular vistas! The top is an abandoned weather station. When you reach this area you fell that you are on top of the world. There is a bus that stops right outside of the attraction.

Hi Susan,Thank you for taking the time to submit your thoughts on your recent trip to the Banff Gondola. It is a pleasure to read that you enjoyed the comfortable ride and spectaular views from the summit of Sulphur Mountain. You are correct, it can get quite busy on holiday weekends - I recommend visiting outside those peak times for a more pleasant experience.I hope you have some great memories from your time in the Canadian Rockies.Kind Regards,Oz BourkeFront Office SupervisorBanff Gondola - Brewster Travel Canada
