Our family consisting of 2 seniors, 1 six year old and his parents had an outstanding 7 days of sun and well groomed slopes. The ski school is extremely well organized and the six year old boy had a blast. Amazed at how he progressed during 5 days of lessons. We adults couldn't have been more satisfied with the variety of terrain and found the Westridge area to be our favourite. Try the Tubing at night. It was so much fun. The Market is well stocked if you are cooking in but also lots of good places to eat. The Globe Tapas Bar was a standout. The staff in all areas were friendly, helpful and eager to please. We want to return next year!

warm spring skiing but become quite slushy after lunch each day. which enabled us to check out all the great coffee shops and eateries and have a really great social time with friends. Would have liked more shopping opportunities.

We usually go to Whistler/Blackcomb but decided to try Big White this year because we had heard it is a great place for kids. That turned out to be true, as I'll discuss below. The drive was easy from Seattle. About 5 1/2 hours and well marked out. There was a bit of traffic going through Kelowna, but otherwise smooth sailing. The snow was bad during our visit, but the runs we stuck to were pretty good. The ones we stayed away from because of the conditions looked like they would be a lot of fun with better snow. The terrain park was great for our kids: lots of choices, with a really good range of difficulty. They particularly enjoyed the ski cross course, which (unlike other resorts I've been to) is available for general use. Best part for me was the relative lack of crowds. This may have been due to the bad snow, but even when we got 4 inches of fresh on Thursday we didn't see huge crowds on the following Friday and weekend. Good sign. The tube park was fun but pretty crowded. We waited much longer to ride there than we had on the ski lifts. They also have snowmobile rentals and horse-drawn sleigh rides that the kids loved. The outdoor skating rink looked like it would have been awesome, but it too warm during our visit to use.The village is pretty good. It's small but has a good mix or facilities and restaurants. If you stay in a place with a kitchen you can buy pretty much any supplies you need--at a reasonable price--from the store in the village. We packed in our own food, but probably won't bother next time because we can just get it there. We'll definitely go back.

Dear Nonaoriana,Thanks for sharing your comments about your recent visit to Big White Ski Resort. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the skiing, the facilities and the staff. We are sorry to hear that your experience with the Whitefoot Medical Centre did not end the way any of us would have anticipated. There is a medical doctor available at Big White Ski Resort every day that the resort is open for downhill skiing and snowboarding. In addition to the privately owned and operated clinic in the Whitefoot Lodge, the ski patrol building will have at least one doctor available, daily, to treat patients. During your visit the Whitefoot Medical Clinic closed for two days unbeknownst to our Ski Patrol team. For this we are truly sorry and we have already taken steps to improve our communications amongst the medical service providers at the resort. The satisfaction of our guests is our primary concern and we will continue to improve our communications and procedures to achieve this goal. We genuinely hope your latest experience does not keep you from returning to Big White to enjoy some wonderful powder snow and friendly service staff.

Dear Carmenannwood,Thanks for sharing your recent experience at Big White Ski Resort with the travel community. As an avid powder hound who loves skiing the knee deep snow through the trees here, I have found a new appreciation for corduroy! When mother nature gives us blue skies and bright sunshine we have to honour her by cruising the blues. I hope you and your friend will be back.
