Perfect condition, top quality TaylorMade rental clubs, predictable greens - I even saw some bears! Lovely spot for a post-round beer as well. Shot 85 so was pretty pleased with that.

Stopped here for lunch after a long walk, great food, freshly prepared and very friendly staff. We sat and looked across the Green Lake whilst enjoying the rest.

Truly excellent golfing experience from the moment you arrive until you drive away. The staff help and guide you up to placing the ball on the tee on hole #1. I had to rent clubs and shoes and I was able to tee off within a half-hour.

1st hole bear! Bear poop is different areas so you can analyze its diet. Golf was good as well despite punched greens. Golf in the mountains is a treat.

It's a little off the beaten path but the patio is gorgeous. You can sit all day and jealously watch the rich folk tee off while enjoying massively huge servings of food. The wine list seemed a little limited but they had decent drink specials and good, friendly service. The "small" nachos come in a massive lasagna pan and will easily feed two. However, the tortilla chips were burnt to black which was a little off-putting. The brunch dishes served to my companions, however, looked awesome and just as large! Overall, I had a fine time in the sun looking out onto the lake, the golf course and the float planes. Worth a visit if you find yourself in Whistler north on a beautiful day.

Good condition & very playable. A very nice practice area & pro shop was well stocked. We also had dinner & it was good.

My fiance and I were visiting whistler august long weekend and had decided to stop for breakfast. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the views as well as the food and the service. This past weekend we returned excited for another great meal, as we stood waiting to be seated a waitress as well as a hostess repeatedly walked by us and gave us the cold shoulder, we were very patient and proceeded to wait another few minutes, 10 mintues went past with zero acknowledgement from anybody! we felt unwelcome! We wont be returning!

Thank you very much for taking the time to give your feedback on Tripadvisor. We are sorry that you feel the way you do and for taking to this forum to voice your discontent. Here is our facility's response to address your synopsis of events and to explain things to all future guests looking to play golf at Nicklaus North or in Whistler.Nicklaus North has a pace of play policy that endeavors to eliminate slow play so that all, or at the very least the MAJORITY of our guests are looked after while on course. We believe that slow play is a threat to the game of golf and a detriment to the enjoyment of it. Golf already takes a long time to play and from golf industry research an efficiently paced round of golf is one of the most important things golfers want. Just look at what the Golf Channel and United States Golf Association have been trying to do in recent years to fix this problem. At Nicklaus North, which is part of the GolfBC group of courses in British Columbia and Hawaii, we (1) take pride in ensuring the golf course is in excellent condition (as is noted many time in reviews here and on other sites), we (2) take pride and care in ensuring that wonderful service is provided to all our guests and members and (3) we take pace of play seriously and do what we can to eliminate SLOW PLAY. Here at Nicklaus North, we have a clear and very fair pace of play policy. We ask for rounds around 4 hours to 4:10 in the morning and 4:20 in the afternoon. We don't believe it is enjoyable nor fair for rounds to take longer than 4.5 hours and we do what we can to ensure that lengthy round times do not occur. This group that wrote this review was addressed in a VERY FAIR/INFORMATIVE manner twice about their slow play - once on the front nine and then again on 10 tee. They took 2 hours and 23 minutes to play the front nine (multiplied by at least 2 as the back nine is more difficult, this would have equated to a 4 HOUR 50 MINUTE ROUND!) and with a second "notification" on 10 tee were given a subsequent chance to improve their pace. Unfortunately 2 holes later (after 11) nothing had changed they were still almost 30 minutes behind and a number of the 130+ guests playing behind them were complaining about the slow pace to our Player Assistant, Refreshment Cart girl and even calling into the Golf Shop. So to ensure that the experience of the majority was not spoiled, we decided to have this group skip a hole and asked them to speed up again. We had their finish time officially at 4 hours, 24 minutes (for 17 holes played... we track all round times manually and thru our GPS system). The 40+ groups in behind them ended up having a REASONABLE pace of play the remainder of the round.Just like on a 2 lane highway, if you drive 15km/h below the speed limit for the first 2/3 of your journey and have people piled up behind you and then punch it/speed up the last 1/3 of the way you will always leave some people "in the dust" and they may not be right behind you at the proverbial "finish line"...which is what exactly happened here.Do we like to move groups = NO, of course not...we do it very seldom. IF Guests are slow, we endeavor to give them ample opportunity to pick up their pace. But we unfortunately cannot let one or two groups ruin the pace of play and enjoyment for the greater majority. If you are looking to play golf in Whistler and want an ALL-AROUND quality golf experience, you need to look no further. If you want a course that does not care what occurs on the course and does not care about pace of play, we are NOT your place. We are sorry that we did not meet these four people's expectations and had to have them skip a hole but the 130+ guests in behind DID HAVE their expectations met once the pace and their experience improved. It's unfortunate that we have to disappoint/upset any guests by taking actions like this, but these situations are all about pleasing THE MAJORITY.

THe casual dining offered on the patio at NN is well worth trying! There is a range of good value informal meals such as fish and chips, burgers, pizzas etc, which, in our experience on more than one occasion, are tasty and very reasonable. Drinks are also fair value and there is nothing more pleasant than sitting out on the patio looking out across Green Lake, including watching the float planes coming and going! Service is also pleasant and efficient. We will certainly be going again!
