Such an amazing experience. We were flexible as to when we were available over the weekend we were on Pender Island. Ian called us when Whales were spotted and we were off! We were able to see some whales breaching, Sea Lions, Seals, and all kinds of birds. We felt safe with Ian and he was very knowledgeable of the wild life he was showing us. I would very highly recommend calling Ian for a trip out.

We went out with Ian and Gulf Island Safari in June and had an amazing time. Ian really knows his stuff. It was cold, drizzling and the whales were far away. Even though we were booked for an early afternoon trip, he told us to go enjoy something else and he would keep in touch with us as to the movement of the whales, hopefully they would move closer to Salt Spring. I thought this was an incredibly thoughtful way to do business. But the whales stayed down near the San Juans, and so even though it was much later than we were suppose to go, he took us out. We went all the way down to the San Juans in the really cold rain, found the whales and had a super time watching them jump and play. We enjoyed it so much we had him take us out the next night for a wildlife watching tour. Great way to see the beautiful area, and see the marine wildlife. Saw orcas, seals, eagles, and some of the other islands.

This tour is islander owned and operated, which we like. Ian is personable and knowledgeable about the islands. It was a great way to "go to sea" and let someone else do the driving... lots to see: seals, eagles, orca whales. You must go out on the water to really experience the islands.
