We did the vehicle based full day tour with quite a knowledgeable guide in terms of wildlife and flora/fauna as well as the geology and history of the area. Gy did a great job and the 9-3 tour went by quite quickly; it actually was a bit longer as we stopped on the way back to watch a black bear grazing in a nearby meadow. There was no walk longer than 20 minutes at a very easy pace. We saw all of the highlights of the park and more. There were plentiful stops with parks washrooms. Lunch provided consisted of sandwiches, mixed nuts, fruit, and home baked dessert. Bring some water with you, though. This was the only land based private guide we had in B.C. and would not hesitate to recommend the tour and company to anyone.

My sister and I went for a great hike with Gy (who is originally from the UK). We were very proud to have accomplished a hike that we wouldn't have tried for ourselves and saw a beautiful part of the park that is not on the regular tourist trail. We enjoyed the chocolate cake after the climb and the information about the forest. We would highly recommend an outing with Gy and wished that we could have spent longer in the park.

We had a great day hiking to the meadows with Gy. Scenery was beautiful and Gy knows everything about fauna and flora. The kids loved it.

We had a great day out with Gy who took us round all the waterfalls and we got some special views of them that we would never have found on our own. Great lunch and our son really enjoyed learning all about the nature all around us. Wells Gray is a beautiful spot and really quiet away from the main waterfalls.

Gy is a very friendly person who took us to a guided hike to Helmcken Canyon and the Gatling Gorge. He is very knowledgeable and it is great fun to spend a day with him. We learned a lot. I really recommend doing a hike/walk with him if you want to see and learn a bit more of the park.

After reading the reviews on here I contacted Gy to book a guided walk. Gy took care to choose a nice easy and very pleasant walk for us two middle aged folk who are out of shape these days! We visited the beautiful Dawson Falls and had a lovely time walking along a river until we got to an abandoned homestead. There was plenty of time to take pictures and just stand and take in the sheer beauty of the park.Gy then took us to the lookout tower on Green Mountain and even gave my husband some great photography tips. We had some delicious banana loaf, homebaked by Gy's wife while at the lookout. On our way back to our lodgings we spotted a bear of which we were able to take some pics!Gy has a huge knowledge and passion of the Wells Gray area and this is imparted to his guests, I would highly recommend anyone visiting this park to take the time to go on a guided tour with Gy, you will learn so much as we did! He also gave us info on other places of interest to visit while we were in the park. We saw things we would otherwise have missed had we not taken the tour. My aim now is to getter fitter and revisit BC and do a day hike! Thanks Gy - you have given us the inspiration to get out and take up walking again after 20 years!!Geoff and Jeannette. :-)

A hike with Gy should not be missed on any visit to Wells Gray. He has an amazing breadth of knowledge of the flora and fauna and history of the park. We were initially a little apprehensive of the nature of trails in this park but Gy selected an easy walk which was most enjoyable and allowed us to see some incredible waterfalls and an original settlers cabin.Lunch was taken in a beautiful setting by one of the waterfalls. Our trip, being in spring was rewarded with several bear sightings and Gy parked on the roadside which allowed some really close but safe photographs. Many thanks Gy for your patience with a couple of oldies.Mike and Joan, UK

my Daughter and I booked Gy for 7 hours and I must say it was well worth the money. Even though half the park was closed off due to snow!, fallen trees and Bridge maintenance, Gy filled the time more than sufficiently. I'm quite a waterfall groupie, so we had a great walk to Moul Falls - not just to the top but also right down to the base, visited Spahats, Dawson and Helmcken Falls, and had a lovely walk to an abandoned homestead, where we had an ample picnic provided (- of course had to eat it all to save Gy having to carry it back to the car!) All in all a great day out and informative on the history of the park, and on the flora and fauna if you wanted. Thanks Gy.

Whether you are so lucky to get sunshine on a hiking day with Gy or not.....the experience itself will make you smile everytime. Wells Gray Provincial Park is beautiful by itself, the extra information and enthusiasm Gy will give you makes the picture complete. We enjoyed our hiking day with Gy in july of this year very much. We would advise such a day to everyone that visits Wells Gray! You will visit places you wouldn't see by yourselves and you will learn a lot of new and exciting things about the Canadian nature. Finally, don't bring your own lunch, Gy or his wife can prepare an excellent meal for you. We enjoyed the complete experience very much!Best wishes to Gy from the Netherlands, Jan and Mellissa and Jacky and Patricia van Drongelen

We had a half day with Gy in Wells Gray. Went somewhere (Silver Tip Falls) we would not have gone on our own and learnt lots in the process about berries, plants wildlife, geology etc. Excellent snacks provided too
