Always wanted to look at the north end of a south bound dog team.Either sitting in the sled or standing on the back it was a first class experience. Amanda taking the bookings was more than helpful and Forrest as our guide, teacher and dog sled driver was very good.Even enjoyed the hot lunch and warm cider. It was very cold but magnificent scenery and a great time with the dog team.Would thoroughly recommend

This was a family outing for 9 and we all had a brilliant time. The dogs are amazing and Amanda and the staff made the day a huge hit with the whole family. What a great way to see the Canadian wilderness.

Recommended for everyone to do at least once in your life. We took part in the 3 hr tour. Forest was a great your guide. Wonderful lunch is provided. Scenery cant get much better then where they take you. Worth the drive and the price.

We went for the 1 hour mushing and it was the best thing we had done on our trip. The group was really small; 2 sleds total us two on the sled with the guide and another couple on the second sled. The owners are a husband and wife team with lots of dogs and additional guides for larger groups. Very very nice and helpful people (and dogs)For the one hour mushing there are plenty or opportunities to switch places; riding in the sled and driving the sled. I think the whole trail round trip was about 4 miles. We also had a stop to take pictures of us on the sled with the dogs. There was up, down, curves, and strait aways on a groomed trail. When we came back there was hot cider, cookies, and carrot or pumpkin bread while the owners fed the dogs and put everything away. The outings can change or canceled at the last minute due to weather conditions and the condition of the trail (too icy if it has rained or not enough snow if the sun has been out for a while without snow fall). Please take this into consideration and be prepared if that happens especially if you have already left because there is hardly any cell phone reception through the mountain roads.Do wear warm snow proof clothing, boots, gloves, hat or face covering, and you may with to bring glasses or goggles if you are sitting in the sled because of the snow that can be kicked up by the dogs during the run. There is plenty of parking and a bathroom at the trail head and the preceding rest stop.If you are coming from Jasper, make sure you have a park pass already or be prepared to pay with cash on the way back from the sledding adventure. There is also a 1 hour time change coming from Jasper to remember. Finding the location was very easy from the directions on the web site; basically take 16 west until you run into the Small River rest area.

Very unimpressed. A friend and I were supposed to go dog sledding on Friday Nov 28th, but our trip was cancelled due to too much snow. Which is fine, but what I found ridiculous was that we were NEVER informed that our trip was cancelled. No calls, no emails, no texts, no nothing. I had called SunDog Tours on Wednesday November 26th to confirm that our trip was still going to happen, and was told that it was 100% a go for Friday. We waited outside of our lodge for the SunDog Tours bus, and after 20 minutes past when we were supposed to be picked up, I gave them a call, and found out the trip was cancelled. It turns out that the dog sledding people told SunDog Tours on Thursday November 27th at around 4:00pm that they couldn't do Friday, but neither they nor SunDog Tours bothered to contact me to tell me about it. Seriously? Very professional.

we took a sled to the cabin, and enjoyed a wonderful ride, lunch, laughs, and peace. i had never dogsledded before, and this was clearly the place to do it. the entire experience was amazing. we happen to hit a day where it was -15F. add in the wind, and, brace yourself. the kids bundled in the sled, and stayed there the entire ride. (good move). i am very happy that we did the long tour. the one/two hour tour would not be enough.

Every moment was magical, I still can't believe I have experienced this. There was light snow and a little sunshine during a tour through breathtaking scenery. Highly professional and friendly staff. Wrap up warmly, my hands and feet got terribly cold. Being a driver (can't remember the right terminology) is not that daunting and really good fun, although being in the basket you get to take some great pictures. Don't forget to take your camera as the scenery is postcard magical, I took video clips too, especially when dogs are excited and competing with Amanda (the owner) for our attention. Lunch is provided and I won't spoil the beans here, but it is really good.

It is a bit of a drive from Jasper (120 km), but we really enjoyed it and it is worth it. It snowed the day before, so everything was covered in a fresh pack of snow making it a winter wonderland. You drive through trees, creek on one side, mountains on the other and there are stops on the way so you can switch seats, take pictures etc. There is also a stop where they will serve cookies, cakes, hot cider and sausage on cheese bread near a camp fire. They explain how to drive the sleigh and you get ample opportunity to do so. The dogs are friendly though a bit high-strung. Some things I did not think off when having the idyllic image of dogsledding were: the barking at the beginning of the ride as the dogs are really excited to go; the many pooping and peeing of the dogs along the way. The guides/handlers are helpful, informative about the dogs and ready to intervene when the dogs get out of the harness or start a fight with each other. The sleigh is comfortable enough, though I preferred to stand and drive. I would have given it five stars if we would have gone quicker on parts of the ride. The speed could be picked up in the second half of the tour to keep the thrill during the whole 3 hour trip.
