Not to many beaches can match the grandeur and the views from this location. Windy at times but the mornings offer the best time to go for a hike around the rock formations. Was not busy at all during this trip. The beach wraps around a big bay and it was a very pleasant visit for me.

What a beautiful place to relax for a few hours while spending a day on Hornby Island. This popular beach with its white sand and warm salt water is reminiscent of Hawaii. It is not far from the village and easy to find. There is a large parking lot and pit toilets.I see the BC provincial park website states: no alcohol, no beach fires, no camping, no water available.If you have time, try to spend a couple of days on Hornby Island so you have time to explore Helliwell Provincial Park and Geoffrey Mountain. A must-stop for great food is Cardboard House Bakery.

We camped at Tribune Bay Campsite which is right next to the provincial park, highly recommend the camp site. the campsite was empty during the day as everyone was at the beach. Sandy beaches, tidal pools, amazing sunsets and large beautiful full moon with no street lights to distract from the view. Fires on the beach, serene and quiet and beautiful. You must go! Hornby Island is full of artisans and a summer market full of great food, every kind of art you can imagine from pottery to painting to felting, wine, gin etc. You will need to take two ferries to get here but it is worth it. Take the time and enjoy they relaxing pace.
