We're glad to hear you enjoyed your visit. The waterwheel was rebuilt to exact measurements by our team of woodworkers two years ago. We hope you'll stop by again.

Nova Scotia has several great examples of living history sites. After visiting Sherbrooke Village, we recommend any of the historic sites on the eastern shore of Nova Scotia and then exploring other sites in the provincial family of museums including in Highland Village or Ross Farm.

Our restaurant staff is very proud of the Salmon wrap made with fresh Salmon from the nearby St. Mary's River!

Thanks Our staff and volunteers are the reason that the Sherbrooke Village Old Fashioned Christmas celebration won a Nova Scotia tourism award this year.

Lots of different buildings to look at here, and the costumed interpreters are really good. There is a jail within a house, telephone exchange, general store, ambrotype photographer (which I found really interesting), church, homes. Best is the sawmill, a little way down the road, near the press. Lumber camp was not worth the extra walk as we were short of time. Not that well signposted from the road, common problem in NS!

Excellent 'back in time" village. All old buildings, period costumes, well knowledgeable staff. Definitely recommend, especially if children traveling too.
