A small museum but lots of information. Great explanations for local tides and rocks. Nice play/learn areas for children. Interesting gift shop with unique items. Nice little facility out front for dogs.

The rocks rock. Carrie rocks. We enjoyed the museum and made some purchases. Upon making some purchases, we asked the gift shop if it was possible for them to ship our rocks. I noticed blueberries were native to the area and asked if they had blueberry syrup. I wanted a non-perishable native product to bring back home to the USA. They told me to come back tomorrow and give Carrie our shipping information. I returned the next day and gave Carrie our shipping info and credit card. I happened to mention to Carrie that I was disappointed that they didn't have blueberry syrup. When I received my package in New Hampshire, USA, there was a gift of blueberry syrup from Carrie. She is a delight! It's a small but enlightening museum.

This museum is an easy to follow, step-by-step, informative museum. Not very big, but full of information about the geology, and history in and around Nova Scotia.Well done.

I really enjoyed this museum! It's creatively organized, has interactive exhibits, and children's activities I wanted to do too. We would have gone on a beach tour had we known in advance what the timing is. The gift shop is great!

I'm married to a geologist and so this sort of thing is always on our list. We've seen many wonderful museums over the years and this one is very nice. It is small, but everything is hands on and the kids had a great time.We were arriving very shortly before closing time so they waved our fee. After viewing the small place I was especially appreciative as it was a lot of money to spend on what was accidentally a short visit. One of the coolest things to see was what goes on behind the scenes. There are 2 windows where you can see specimens that are being worked on a cataloged before being put on the floor for viewing. This was a very interesting peak! There were several packages of bones - different sizes and different wrapping and several machines and tools used for prep. Fascinating. Also, there is a fossil dig. I've seen these before, but never one with a grid. This makes so much sense to kids to try and explain that you need to work with a pattern and a plan. This way no one disturbs the wrong spot, digs somewhere twice, or worse - misses a spot! I hid the 'fossils' several times so my little geologists would find them. They loved this part. This was educational and fun - the best of both worlds. The ladies in the entrance/gift shop area could not have been nicer - polite, patient, cheerful.I highly recommend this place for the little travelers in your midst!!

Very child-friendly, but could do with more for adults, took about 45 mins to see. Great tour to Wasson's Bluff with two geology students the following day.Very friendly staff

I was disappointed in this place. I am interested in geology, so I was really excited to travel from Halifax... but the place was much smaller than I expected, and the exhibits are too few for the entrance fee they charge. I am sure they can do better to make more people come. It is a far place to visit, but a lot more people love to travel if they can do better presentation about rocks, minerals, and fossils. There were some events going on when I visited but they are mostly for little kids.

We had been passing over rocks on the beach with small black marks and/or white dots. Come to find out they were fossils. Would have loved them for my classroom. Come here first instead of last on your Fundy Beach vacation.

The Museum offers opportunities for visitors to explore the gallery, and offers tours of the exhibits by students during the summer months. There are also guided walks that the museum offers to provide experiences that expand the exhibits to rocks seen outside along the shores of the Bay of Fundy. There are plans to develop more exhibits that involve interactive exploration features, including new exhibits and educational programs that focus on the importance of sedimentation in preserving the dinosaurs from the Bay of Fundy. If there are specific exhibits or activities you would like to see more of please contact the museum and share your thoughts. We are always interested in improving the experience of our visitors.
