Beautiful spot - great fortress architecture, lovely view of the whole city, well done movie, cool changing of the guards 'ceremony', interesting exhibits. Wheelchair available in greeting area across the square from the entrance.

Well restored, and with knowledgeable guides. The cannon is great fun :)If ever you are there before Halloween, the night time tours are absolutely amazing. To see such a place by moonlight and walk through the old stone parapets in the dark was such a treat!

Visited here just before mid day. The cannon fired and nearly jumped me out of my skin! It set the tone for the visit and wandering around at such cold temperatures just made one realise the conditions it must have been like back in the day. This historic site gives you a good basis for the history of the area. Walking down the hill my face was freezing, but I had all the modern gear on to keep me warm. Just imagine what it would have been like in the past.

This is a must see and explore. See the fort, bring a picnic. Fire the noon gun. Explore the ramparts and the dark corners where famous people have been imprisoned.

Everything but the stairs to get up there, unless you take a shuttle. Be sure to visit over the noon hour and watch the cannon being fired. Children will love the dungeons and soldiers in costume

A visit to Halifax without the fortress Citadel is morning without coffee! The re-enactment force does an excellent job of recreating the occupants of one of Canada's earliest forts. From museums to the firing of the noon canon, there is something for everyone. The view overlooking the city plus historic facts and stories make a visit to the Halifax Citadel a must.

Wonderful historic view of the city of Halifax and Halifax Harbour, from here you can view the busy city, but step back into history with the Guards standing at attention. There are many viewing spots and information to read, and tour guides to explain the past. The 'flags' which played such an important part of this shipping area's past still fly at the Citadel. Worth a trip for sure

Citadel Hill is a unique fortress as it is a french design that never saw action. It was not meant to protect the harbour but the landward side of Halifax. great historic snapshot of the times and some of the wars since
