We had scheduled a tour of Prince Edward County wineries and requested a lunch service for 10. Despite being busy with harvest, they were able to accommodate us. Arial (misspelling is mine), provided top notch table service as well as educating us on the wines and varietals planted at the winery. Samples were provided with our excellent meal. The pumpkin soup was delish and the roasted vegetable sandwich complimented the tastings well. Others in our group enjoyed the antipasto platter for two, calzones and wood fired pizzas. We left warm satiated and happy. Highly recommend lunch and tastings at this wonderful winery.

For being the biggest winery in PEC (and having the largest signs also lol) this place was a disappointment. The tasting service was excellent, but for our palates nothing really tasted good, someone else may disagree as wine tasting is so personal, but I felt that bigger does not always equal better!!

Without question, going to a winery is always a bit hit or miss as you never know how busy they will be, how many staff are on hand, and for that matter, how knowledgable the staff will be. That's why, if you like wine, you will go to several wineries and find those you like and move on from those you don't. What you need to look for are the things beyond how busy a place might be. This winery has lovely grounds ( the bocce pits are a great touch) is very well maintained, offers more than just the winery ( bistro and larger event facilities) and on top of that, has some great wines. As someone who has seen a lot of wineries, I enjoyed this one. The staff are knowledgable, and friendly. I will certainly go back.

This winery is very popular and was overcrowded on the day we visited. Sandbanks tours had organized a "gourmet" lunch for us midday which we were so looking forward to. We arrived to find there were no free tables and the two staff who were on hand were overwhelmed by the number of patrons wishing to sample wines. A table was set up for us and while we enjoyed our glass of Baco Noir (a superb wine from Sandbanks winery), our meal was not impressive. The only thing that saved the day was chatting with the winemaker who was very interesting and obviously cared about his wines and their patrons!

We decided to stop here for a bite to eat, as my girlfriend enjoyed her past dining experience here. Unfortunately, the spinach soup she ordered during this visit was underseasoned, tasting more like pureed spinach than anything else. The bruschetta was better but potently overpowered by the fresh garlic used on it. The staff on the other hand were great - very friendly, and didn't charge for the sub-par soup. We appreciated the good service, but were very disappointed in the food.

Convenient dinning room serving average Italian Food but a chance to sample good wine. Staff is friendly.

The weather was perfect for dining on the terrace. The service was friendly and the server very knowledgeable about pairing wines with food. We chose a lovely platter of smoked hams, grilled vegetables and pickled cucumbers. I don't remember which wine our server paired for us, but it was delicious.

The staff are very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Their wines are truly excellent and the staff do a great job describing each one. The chardonnay and Riesling are outstanding.

I had not intended to visit this winery until a good friend encouraged me to try it out. As a fan of pinot noir wine, I tend to visit the wineries that I know produce this wine. My friend told me about the food, fresh pasta. On that basis, I decided to check it out. Having traveled to Italy in 2010 (see my reviews if you like), my wife and I love to "go Italian" to reminisce about that exquisite trip. We had aa wonderful surprise when we came to Casa-Dea for lunch. I had a well balanced and flavourful soup to start, followed by a vibrant TAGLIATELLE ALLA BOLOGNESE. My best surprise was the Pinot. Smooth, refreshing and a beautiful medium body. Next visit, I'm buying a case. I will be there again next week.

On a tour of Prince Edward County vineyards and wineries, the last one we visited was Casa Dea Estates winery. Vines surround the modern building with the reception, tasting and shop areas. A covered terrace serves as their restaurant in good weather. Since we visited in mid-October, the restaurant tables were moved inside. After tasting several Chardonays and a bubbly, we stayed to eat a lovely lunch. The Italian chef, in Canada on a visa, created meltingly delicious gnocchi, fettuccine and pizzas. We started with a green salad, which had just the right amount of perfectly balanced vinaigrette. When the mains arrived, there was very little talking. We drank the 2010 Chardonnay, which both my sister and I preferred to the 2009 Chardonnay Reserve. Very reasonably priced, so we bought several to take home. They also have a pavilion for functions and we speculated on what a beautiful place it would be for a wedding. Definitely on our list of wineries to keep on our list for 2014, along with the ones we haven't been to last year or this.
