A lovely place to while away a few pleasant hours on the shores of Lake Ontario. Summer at the beach! Take a stroll along the boardwalk. Lots of wildlife, birds and more. Ice-cream, restaurants, snack bars and shopping!

We have always loved walking along the waterfront in the Pickering/Scarborough area and now it is even better. Now that the entire trail is open along this section, we can walk from Petticoat Creek to Colonel Danforth Park in Scarborough. I love that the trial is paved and located right beside the water. The trail is quite busy on weekends with many people walking, cycling and in line skating. You can people watch and count the trains that go by as you enjoy the fresh air!

The first cycle in 2014 and it was long overdue. This was the perfect trail to start this on. Coming back for more.

Jump on a bike or choose to hike. Good scenic workout. If you prefer bring a fishing rod for the river or some sunscreen for the beach. Me? I go for the ride and to sit under a tree with music in my ear and a good book...

I mostly go to the waterfront trail in the mornings, it is wonderful to walk and enjoy the peace of watching the water. It is not as quiet in the afternoon as it is becoming very popular, there are lots of water play things for children. I like the wildlife, we have some lovely swans and it is very interesting when they have there babies. There are a lot of different birds, you just have to look for them. Further in the park are beautiful carvings of totem poles, very much worth seeing. I believe they are made out of old hydro poles. One thing you have to ignore when you are there is the Nuclear Plant. They do have one of the largest Windmills and it gives you lots of information about it. I definitely recommend a visit.

Living handy I am on this trail often. There are many things to see and do along the way. Totem poles, the lake, children's playgrounds, off leash dog parks. Great for cycling or walking. Wonderful on a hot summer day. Oh yes, and there are snack vendors along the way so you can quench your thirst or grab a treat.

I last walked the trail just after the ice storm and it was magical. I bring all my visitors for a hike on the trail and they always impressed that we have such an amenity so close to hand

Decent parking (except on summer evenings) and a couple decent eateries. Walkable and wheelchair accessible for many km to the east. Lots of kiddy activities -- swing sets, slides, sprinkler water park during summer) and sand for volleyball. Washrooms are decent. Decent view of Lake ontario (and the power plant :-( Too bad the c is so truck too expensive.

Trail well marked, all basically asphalt, good for hiking, biking, rollerblading ... geocaches close by! (my new favourite outdoor hobby)

When you're walking the Waterfront Trail west of Rotary Park it's hard to believe you are a stone's throw from Ajax or Pickering - or the GTA. Only the falling leaves and singing tree toads can be heard. The Trail is very clean and well cared for. It's "a slice of Heaven" even on a rainy day!
