I stopped by this store for the first time a few weeks ago while in town visiting family. There 's lots of interesting & unique items. The girl who was working was friendly. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in town.

The owners are very helpful and will take the time to help you with anything. You can tell they struggle with theft because of the amount of security camera's in the store. One short visit and you can tell they go to great lengths to keep pan handlers and loiterers away from their customers so they can enjoy their visit to a magnificent store and the prices are way too cheap for the quality...Keep up the good work!

I agree the owner is indeed the rudest. I did call a cab, but I decided to look in the Green block trading post also needing to buy cigarettes. I took interest in a few things such as the moccasins and some other native things, as that is my heritage. The lady working was talking to me answering all my questions. I got to look at more things, and the owner says ARE YOU WAITING FOR A CAB !? And I said yes. And he goes on and on about how Im just looking around in the store for somewhere warm to stand. One.. its not cold out anymore ... two Im interested in a few things. and still tells me to leave. what the hell... who runs a store like this ?

My husband, daughter & her friend who are 9 years old & myself camped at Awenda Provincial Park over the July 1st long weekend. We decided to take a drive to Penetanguishene to check out the waterfront. After walking around the waterfront & having lunch we stopped in a few stores on the walk back up the hill. We all went in the Green Block Trading Post for a look. My husband & I noticed the man behind the counter did not take his eyes off of us the whole time we were in the store but thought nothing of it at the time. After about ten minutes my husband left the store & waited out front for the girls & I to finish looking. I told the girls it was time to go. My daughters friend showed me a fox tail just before we left the store & I saw here put it back on the rack. As I opened the door to leave the store the owner said in a loud voice to my daughters friend "Put back the fox tail that you stole". I asked him what he was talking about & again he said "Put back the fox tail that the girl stole". I told him she did not steal a fox tail. Once again he repeated the same thing! My daughters friend said to the man "I did not take the fox tail" and burst into tears. Both girls were crying & scared. Again he repeated the same thing! That's when I got angry & told him the girls do not shop lift. He just kept repeating the same thing so I stormed out of the store after giving him a piece of my mind. The girls were so upset. They are only 9 years old, petite, just finished grade 3 & were wearing shorts with no pockets & tee-shirts. Where on earth would they hide a 12" fluffy fox tail!! The girls don't even know what shoplifting is. The owner had no justification for this accusation. He should not be operating a store. Maybe a prison would be more suitable.
