I wish I'd had more time to really explore this park during my road trip. Still the brief taste I got left an amazing impression. The Georgian Bay scenery is phenomenal. If you've ever seen landscape paintings by the Group of Seven artists you'll instantly recognize this iconic scenery. Ancient Canadian Shield rocks battered by wind and erosion stretching out like long arms into the lake with windswept trees holding onto them precariously. Bring your camera and give yourself lots of time to enjoy the trails.

killbear park is stunning and has so very much to offer. My family have a cottage there and I have stayed there and at the same site, it's always my favourite place to visit. The marina has a lot to offer and there are some stunning views.

I camped at Killbear with my family my entire childhood, we always went the first week of August and stayed 10 days in Blind Bay. I was lucky enough to go back after many many years in 2011, and I must say I had missed it so much! It is honestly the most beautiful relaxing place to go, the beaches are fantastic as well. I will be returning there again this summer for a week. I highly recommended Killbear to anyone interested in camping. FYI: yes there are bears, but if you are smart and keep your site clean, and most importantly put your food AWAY, you won't have any issues.

Killbear during the 3rd weekend of September is awesome! For the past three years, my family has taken the tent trailer and camped at Killbear during the 3rd week of September. The water is still warm enough for a quick swim or rock jumping. The summer crowds have thinned out, no bugs and it is just peaceful. Even our kids (ages 10 and 12) still want to go. It is great little getaway once school has started but your not quite ready to let go of summer.

I have been going to Killbear for nearly 40 years. I go at the very least once a year but often I am there every other weekend in the summer months. I even go up for the day when I can't do a longer visit. I would call myself an expert on Killbear Park. I consider myself a seasoned camper and I have visited several parks. I haven't found a park that measures up this park. I have stayed in every section of the park and could tell you the pros and cons of each. I prefer granite saddle or beaver dams. If you're looking for a great place to get away from things and enjoy nature then this is the park for you. If you're the kind of camper who likes to cause problems or doesn't respect others rights for peaceful enjoyment of nature, may I suggest you visit a different park. One of the questions I am asked most is if there are bears. The quick answer is yes. Will you see a bear...unlikely. The park provides you with simple ways to bear proof your site which if followed will virtually make a bear encounter non existent . Racoons can be a nuisance but if you clean your site nightly, you won't have an issue. The beaches are great as are the cliffs. Sunsets views over Georgian Bay are breathtaking. I can't think of any other place I would rather visit during the summer. Killbear is worth checking out.I could go on and on but I will be typing all day. I would be happy to answer any questions regarding the park.

Great place to camp - the only problem is that you have to book ASAP if you want your site cause it books up fast. Nice Beach and cliffs to jump off.

Killbear Provincial Park is an awesome place for so many reasons. I have camped there since I was a child and now find I live in the Parry Sound area I still make a point to camp there every year. I got married on the rocks of Beaver Dams in 2010. Beautiful! My last visit this past summer was a rainy one but we still had the best time and saw a deer and fawn while out walking.

love this park but we went out one evening at 8 pm to visit friends who were tenting on a site. To get in past the gate we had to pay I think it was $14! The park closed at 10 pm!!! That is a full day parking pass. I could not believe it but paid as the friends were expecting us. An evening pass should be much less after 6 pm!!!

We were on a cruise and docked in Parry Sound. We took a beautiful bus ride to Killbear. The scenery was just breathtaking. The Georgian Bay is large enough to be one of the Great Lakes.
