Fun artifacts and displays. Would have spend a bit more time there if we hadn't need to get back into town (Toronto) for something.

Stopped in here while we were waiting for something else to open. As an American on Canadian soil it was quite interesting to read the military scenarios in the museum - especially the War of 1812. Overall, though, the museum was very nice for a piece of local history and extolled the history of the town of Ingersoll and its founding family. There were several outbuildings displaying life in the 1800s and looked as if it would be a popular field trip destination. Our favorite, of these, was the building that explained the cheese making process and its display of antiquated equipment

Self-guided tour of a few historic buildings. gift Small gift shop and pleasant owner on location. We enjoyed the Blacksmith and Tractor Buildings as well as the original cheese-making shop. Great place for kids to learn history and try out the wooden "Walking Stilts" -- hysterical and use at your own risk !!:)Under 1 hour tour. We enjoyed it — all 4, 2 adults; 2 kids (14/9)

We saw a sign for the factory on the highway in Canada while driving from Detroit to Niagara. There are several buildings you can go into - one contains the museum (which is filled with little artifacts and some Canadian history), another shows the process of making cheese, and another is a blacksmith shop. They had stilts you could mess around on which was fun. We didn't stay long - probably 30 minutes because we were just passing through, but all-in-all, it was nice to see a little history on our brief trip through Canada.

This collection of buildings are a wonderful historic insight for the area. From the museum to the blacksmithery and cheese factory, you really get a sense of the people who settled the area in the 1800s. Might not be a great destination for small children (no climbing, no touching, lots of reading), but as an adult tourist, I enjoyed my stop.My time estimation is based on someone actually interested in learning about the area. You *could* whip through the place in under and hour, but miss a lot of the value.
