The Arboretum offers well marked walking trails with varied & interesting geography. Some of it is overgrown and needs attention to broken branches, etc. There is lots of parking.

University of Guelph has established a detailed and well laid out collection of trees mostly indigenous to Southern Ontario and the lower Great Lakes region. The trees and plantings are well labelled and the walkways are clean and clear including a variety of habitats from marsh and swamp, pine groves and hardwood forests. parking is free and easily accessible from College Ave and Victoria Rd. A great spot to take a leisurely stroll on a spring day

This is great walk no matter the weather. In summer the variety of the flower gardens is wonderful. In winter you can walk or snowshoe the trails. Great way to get outdoors and exercise.

The arboretum is a peaceful place to get away from the bustle and noise of the city. It's a park/forest on the university grounds. I have often walked along the trails in the woods where I've listened for the bird songs. One winter day I left the main path and wandered onto the snowy field. Before long, I found myself thigh-deep in snow and in the distance I heard the church bells chiming. It was a very peaceful moment in the middle of a busy week. I wish the park was bigger. I can walk from end to end in about an hour (when I'm not sunk in the snow).

The Arboretum is a place that could easily be taken for granted if you live in Guelph. It has been growing for decades and is greatly diverse in the the number of species of plants and trees that are growing. There are several walking trails through different ecosystems. Some of the trails are wheelchair accessible. If you are in Guelph and looking for a place with some shade and pleasant scenery this is a great spot to compliment some of the city trails that Guelph has.

Guelph's Aboretum up at the university is worth a visit or two or three. Walking here is like being in the bush in the country, and the paths are intricate and well worth investigating. There are toilets on the premises, and plenty of parking areas. This is an amazing natural location smack dab in the city. It is also close to the university campus so you can head down there afterwards to a pub or for a walk among the students.

It is a little gem in the middle of town, there is no cost and well maintained. I don't seem to be alone, there always seems to be a few people enjoying a walk but never too crowded

Many trees are labeled, and are in groups of related types for comparison. We didn't try the frisbee game but remember to take one along.
