I visited this museum to attend the Paint Ontario juried art exhibition and sale. The exhibition was well worth the trip from London with a large number of paintings from southern Ontario artists. The variety and quality was quite impressive. The museum exhibits were an eclectic assortment of farm implements, household goods, furniture and local history. A worthy effort at history preservation.

If you remember something special that your mom and dad shared with you or the times you spent with your grandparents you will recall seeing some of the things found in the Lambton Museum. As you walk through the buildings you will learn about the founders of the communities around you, how things were built, what tools were used to create things with andsee the dishes that adorned the harvest tables, fashionable clothing of the time and what choiceof travel was utilized in times before us. It's relaxing and so enriching. The staff at the Museumare knowledgeable and friendly and more than willing to explain displays. You might even sample a cookie at the back by the kitchen. All in all enjoyable...meander at your leisure.

Not sure what I expected and because we visited in the winter I did not expect the out buildings to be open. The south room was a quick tour. i would have enjoyed the north room more if I could have seen more. The pictures and prints on the wall flip thing were great but with exhibits below I could not reach to flip the panels to see it all. There were long tables in front of a lot of things to look at almost like maybe there was something going on and they have not had a chance to remove the tables as well as articles on moving platforms that were shoved together with of course tables in front of them. There was one whole area blocked from these tables as well. When you have to look across a table into the display and try and read the information that was next to impossible. Not sure if we hit a bad time or what and because of this I can not recommend it. And please do something about the lighting.

We have driven by this spot a hundred times and never thought much of stopping in, all until a rainy camping weekend at the pinery. What a great surprise, the museum is filled with fascinating artifacts and equipment used/manufactured locally in bygone times. We had no idea what an importance the area played in farm implement evolution.Lots of beautiful pieces of locally made furniture showcasing the abundance of local lumber. The farming implements are staggering in there collection size and variety. The museum has a way of making you realize your mortality in its way of tying the collection to its original owners. A highly recommended stop, and all for $5, allow your self a minimum 1-2hrs.

I was at the museum for the 20th annual Paint Ontario Exhibit - what a great way to celebrate local art and artists; though some artists were from far away, the settings for their (c.300) paintings were from around here. My friend and I peeked at the rest of the museum - what a wonderful record of Lambton and Huron counties. This is a hidden gem. Highly recommend it.

Definitely love this little gem and you could spend a good afternoon taking in all it has to offer. I particularly enjoyed visiting the outdoor displays of old farm vehicles as well as the transferred historical buildings such as the schoolhouse and the cottage. Say hello to the very friendly resident cats!

This is a great place to spend part of the day when it is raining and the kids are bored. Inexpensive and has so much to see and do.

I love history so it's nice to see that there is some in the area that has been recorded. I'd like to see some more movement and additions but it's ok.
