The museum is more interesting that the usual period home. Different rooms are done in different periods - highlighting furniture manufactured in Cornwall during different periods - providing an industrial history of the area. There is also an archive located in the lower level of the museum.

Great museum with furnished rooms of the 19th century and a fabulous basement archive where they work and have additional display space. Visitors are invited to dress up in period clothing and take pictures. Interesting display about Cornwall's, and Canada's role in the production and destruction of mustard gas in WW I. Ian the curator is very interesting and talks a blue streak. Rare picture of Sir John A McDonald on the second floor along with military artifacts and Boy Scout items. We were in Cornwall for a Heritage Ontario conference and returned to the museum twice because we liked it so much. P.S. Don't let Ian's negative review dissuade you from visiting Upper Canada Village - it is wonderful.
