This is a beautiful place, especially with fresh snowfall and -17degrees clear skies . A little trickier to park with snow banks, but the plow driver appears to have done an extra dig in. Not sure whether one could tube.trio advisor has asked about whether bathroom facilities. Natural "bush toilet" only for a quick wiz.

It's a nice place to visit on a country drive in good weather. Especially picturesque in the autumn. Some great photo opportunities. Early morning or sunset is best. When the weather is good it's a crazy busy place and there isn't really any parking to speak of. There is a plaque there that explains this phenomenon and how it came to be. Very much worth reading. This is not a landscape feature that is set up for large groups of people... no washrooms, no vending, no stores... nothing like that. That isn't what it's about. It's a place to come and think about nature, take some photos and walk around a little bit. There is a question "When Did I Visit", that I'm supposed to answer in this review. Frankly, I see it every day. It's beside where I live.

Bit of a dangerous spot so be careful with young kids. Kids like to run on it which is slowly eroding the soil. Interesting little mini-version of the real thing.

If you're not from Caledon, this is an excellent reason to come visit and see what we have to offer. It's a fun place for kids to run around, and it's free! When you're done at the badlands, visit The Spirit Tree for some lunch. You won't be disappointed with your day. Promise. (Unless the spirit tree is closed...).

This place is a hidden gem and must be visited by one and all. The badlands refers to a small field of rolling hills in Caledon that is almost completely devoid of vegetation, covered in Queenston shale that becomes very slippery when wet and erodes easily. The field is located beside the road for easy viewing. There is a viewing area with limited parking on the south side of Olde Baseline Road, between Creditview and Chinguacousy Roads, west of Hwy 10 in Caledon. Parking is very limited at the access points to the trail, but the view is simply spectacular and mesmerising.

We went there on January the 2,2015. The hills were partly covered with snow but still the beauty of the place was well seen. The kids were happy to climb up and down, so white gloves and pants turned red soon. Hope to wash them... So take extra not brand new clothes for kids to really have fun and enjoy the place.

My cousin was visiting from Ireland for the first time, so I thought I had to show him as much of what Canada was in the two short weeks he was here. His first full day in Canada we went to get breakfast and then set off to the Badlands! The name alone makes the anticipation grow! Once we arrive, he was in awe! It was a beautiful sunny day and the hills were glowing red with white and sometimes green looking streaks through them. Gorgeous! We took pictures from both sides. I think walking to the far side is where you get the best photo. That way the hills are going upwards behind you and you can see all they have to offer. I have to admit this was not my first time to the Cheltenham Badlands, but the view never gets old! I'll definitely be back many more times.

The views are spectacular here! It's a very busy place for visitors when the weather is nice and on the weekends. Parking is minimal and you must be careful.

The Cheltenham Badlands were really an amazing sight, unfortunately it was snowing today and they were covered in a light dusting of white. I would love to go back in the summer or spring to see Badlands again, because I believe they would look even more beautiful if they weren't covered in snow. But even so, the landscape was truly a sight to see.

This was an interesting site (we are geology/earth science fanatics). We viewed it from the road and the paths as it's not wise to crawl on the formations as that can damage them. It is worth the drive to see. Parking is minimal. The badlands are not extensive.
