One would find it a little odd to review this building however there are a few things to say I don't think that Burlington downtown gets enough credit it is a wonderful place to visit and our City Hall offers a nice courtyard with events in the summer. As for the building itself it is a modern type of building and I have nothing particular to say about it. I do have to say that one day we entered with the kids to tell them a little bit about how the city Council etc. it works and we were treated so well and received a lot of information and a tour of the building. This was very interesting for the kids most schools do go on field trips to this building however at the time when our children were to go there was a teacher strike and they never did get to visit so we decided to take them on our own. I am proud of this city and I am proud of the people that work in that building so I suppose my review is more on the people then the actual place. Now I can say that if you're into geocaching there is a small one right in the area :) and there are a couple of nice sculptures and flowers to view in the summertime.

As a Burlington resident for many years, I've known this building to be where I pay my taxes and where our city council meets. I can't imagine why any tourist would want to go here. There's a nice outdoor area in the summer, and during the Sound of Music festival there's a stage set up outside for entertainment. That's probably the most excitement around there during the year! Visitors should definitely come downtown, however, and enjoy the shops and restaurants and the waterfront park and the Art Gallery. We have a new Performing Arts Centre downtown as well. Welcome to Burlington :)

The City Hall has an attractive modern look to it with lots of bright blue windows. The surrounding courtyard is perfect for hosting community events. While visiting there was a summer festival going on with live music, food, and sports cars on display. I also liked the large water fountain located near the entrance.

We went to obtain our marriage licence. The ladies that assisted us were friendly and explained the process as we went along. They were also very knowledgeable about processes. They did spell a number of things incorrectly when transcribing our information but corrected this. The building is quite dated although neat. The only suggestion I could make is that there needs to be better signage, its not immediately clear which window/desk you need to go to.

A wonderful example of civic pride by combining 1950's and 1980's architecture. The civic square and fountain provide a focal point for citizens and visitors. The building is very functional and public access is encouraged.

What a great job the City of Burlington did at the waterfront. The pier is brand new ( opened on July 01) and let me tell you that at night it looks breathtaking. You can walk en enjoy the view either at day or night. Great place to spend some time with family and friends. Bring your camera, you will like to take some pictures and send them to friends. Bring your bike if you want too!
