Glanmore is a beautifully, and historically accurate, restored family home. It represents a style of living that is gone today-kind of Downton Abbey meets the colonials! There are great educational programs and activities for children. The museum offers seasonal events, too, such as the annual Mothers' Day afternoon tea which is catered by members of Friends of Glanmore.

Glanmore National Historic Site is definitely worth a trip! The house itself is absolutely gorgeous and is beautifully preserved and restored. Once you step inside, it really feels like you're taking a step back in time, and the staff were friendly and answered all of my questions! Definitely one of the best house museums I've ever visited!

The residence built in the second empire style architecture for wealthy local banker Phillips and his wife is worth the visit. It is said that, from the time of its construction in 1883 until its sale in 1971 when the home was purchased to become a museum, it was owned by one family over three generations during which it remained uniquely unaltered. The numerous objects original to the house on display are a major point of interest.

This was once a privately owned home in Belleville``s east hill area. It is beautiful and a dream home for every wanna be princess. Worth the visit. It is also close to Corby Rose Garden which is not listed here as an attraction but a beautiful park that was donated to the city by the Corby family in the late 1800`s. The gardens are magnificent and the photo ops out of this world. Belleville has many hidden gems.

It is a wonderful museum, a home built in 1883. Restoration of the interior has recently been completed with original paint color on the walls. It is certainly worth a visit.

I visited Glanmore with my husband, 9-year old, and 4-year old in March 2014. The house is truly exquisite. The rooms were presented beautifully with great attention to detail. The style of the house and the interior decorating allows visitors to experience a grandeur, details, and purpose that seems obsolete in modern architecture and design. The billiard room was the favoured room in the house for my husband and me. The materials, carvings, colour-scheme, and the way the sun reams into the windows is absolutely enchanting. My daughter loved that the house felt haunted to her (further reinforced by automatic lights). My 4-year old son loved carrying around a clip board with pictures of artifacts that he could check off as we found them.As an added bonus, this house was used to film the Murdoch Mysteries Halloween-themed Season 3, Episode 10. I'm a big fan of the show, but found myself reliving parts of the house more than following the storyline. The house is surprisingly small, but still takes about 2 hours or more to get a good feel for it.

We visited The Glanmore House in Belleville in mid December 2013 where we were greeted warmly by Elsie who was one of the staff. She offered to show us around answering many of our questions and offering interesting information. If you appreciate Victorian and Edwardian antiques, architecture from that period and fine art then, you will not be disappointed. Glanmore House is a treat for the eyes and a jaunt back in time for the history buff.

Belle maison d'époque très luxueuse située dans un quartier résidentiel chic où il fait bon s'y promener. La maison est de toute beauté. Beaucoup d'éléments, d'objets, très chargée. Minutie dans les détails. On s'y intéresse.
