We've snorkels there through Taino Divers on our last trip. It was there that we got the bug to Scuba Dive after watching the divers go down deep while we watched from up top with our snorkels. Now we're certified divers and plan to dive Desecheo before we return home.

We did a snorkel / dive trip out there today and the water clarity was impressive. The dive was incredible. They took us to the "crab shack" area and omg. My family dives and loves Belize. But this might have beat it.

if you are on the west side of puerto rico i highly recommend you try scuba diving at desecheo island.

If you dive this us a good 30 minute ride on a dive boat but it's worth it. Unexplored with beautiful under world live. During some months you can see whales as well.

been going to Desecheo to dive there for many years.have yet to have a bad dive. the only issue is that sometimes the crossing(either going or coming back or both)can get a bit rough. other than that it's a great place to dive.

We went scuba diving and snorkeling with Taino Divers. The two dive sites were Candyland and the Caves. The reef there is relatively healthy, though bleached. The marine life is not that abundant. The water temperature was 80-83 F and the visibility at Candyland was more than 50 feet. There is a channel the boat has to go through to reach the island and the ride could be choppy. The boat ride is more than an hour each way.It's nice to visit if you are already in the area, but I wouldn't recommend going on a dive trip there.

Desecheo Island is only for snorkeling and scuba diving. You can't get off on the island. It is a marine reserve so there is lots to see and the water is crystal clear blue.

Two awesome dive sites if the weather is nice enough to make the trip from Rincon. We had calm seas and very clear day/excellent visibility. Even so, the return back was quite choppy but not frightening.

Warm (82 degrees)100 feet crystal-clear visibility with abundant marine life, including shark and huge barracuda (really huge!) and colorful coral formations. Underwater arches, caves, holes and canyons...stunning diving site.

The water is such a deep blue turquoise! BEAUTIFUL! There were fish in abundance and so much life to see! It's also cool to know that nobody can step foot on the protected land! From what we were told, only monkey's live here :)
