我们住在Casa Particulare(那里酒店不多),非常不错。

Probably the most beautiful landscape in all of Cuba. Impressive rocky landscape, red soil and tobacco plants wherever you look. Do a trip by bike or horse to see more of the valley!

It is a nice place with beautiful views. Couple of attractions are nearby so it is worth to spent here at least 2 days. I have seen more picturous places in my life, but it is still worth visiting if you are traveling around Cuba.

The valley of Vinales is a "must have seen" for your Cuba-Visit. You can discover the valley by horse or walking. There is a wonderful cave in which you go by boat. A big wall-painting on the rocks and spectacular views from diferent points.

This was one of the most beautiful views I saw during my months in Cuba. The landscape is incredible. It's an absolute must-see and is entirely unforgettable!

Valley terrific but the best was staying with families in the village of Vinales. They were so friendly and nice. Twelve of us traveled with In Touch with Cuba and they arranged for us to have diinner at the home of one of the families. They call the houses where tourists can stay "casas particular". Very nice, very clean houses and all with private bathrooms. The way to go.

As they say the best attempt to make a plan... We choose to hire a taxi for the 2 hour drive to Vinales. $150... we are not tour bus people. Our plan to take a bus to Cienfuegos on the back end of 10 days for 3 days fell apart so thought trip to Vinales and caves would be a substitute. After enduring the 2 hour taxi, a 4-5 hour bus to Cienfuegos would have been torture for us, so fate saved us. This was not our first rodeo to Cuba. We met our driver, Luis on a short transfer in Havana. What a joy to find a very nice guy, good driver, good English and great tour guide. Oh and a vehicle in great condition, fairly new Kia Sorrento that is licensed by a company that he drives for. Actually a "Yellow Cab" with all the markings just like NYC. We did the usual route the tour buses take and much less stressful. Luis knows a lovely off the beaten path Paladar restaurant that served an abundance of food family style for $10 with your choice of entree. Even had a resident parrot, Cody who had the run of the place and visited tables for treats. Life is at a much slower pace outside Havana with method of transportation ranging from Ox drawn and Horse drawn carts to bicycles. Lots less vehicle traffic. Short boat ride through the cave for $5 was interesting. A bit precarious on the walking path to get to the 12 passenger boats, but after all it was a cave. You could take a spin on the resident Water Buffalo at the end of the cave tour. Even though the stop for the view down into the valley was not made by a volcano, reminded us of a volcano creator we visited in Quito, Ecuador with it's lush green valley. We did notice there are many Casa Particulars to rent rooms in Vinales as well as several hotels so spending an overnight would be relaxing. Hotel would be our choice as the Casa route was our downfall on arrival and we had to find a hotel which in high season wasn't easy. This day was one of the highlights of our visit.

We had a day trip to Vinales by private taxi for the four of us.The scenery was breathtaking and different to the rest of Cuba.As it was a weekend the cigar factory was closed, but we went to a tobacco growing farm where we saw young plants growing which had been transplanted by hand! There was a drying shed where the leave is left to dry and mature, about 40 foot high and covered with drying leaves in various different stages. We then went to the caves and a trip on a boat through the underwater cavern. This was very interesting seeing the different rock formations etc. On exiting the boat we walked across to a restaurant some 300/400yards away.It was called Paladar La Pimienta (email:lapimienta@nauta.cu ).Here we had the most amazing lunch ,various starters, tuna fillets with salad, white rice brown rice black beans in sauce. There really was far too much to eat,but it was delicious. The drinks were cheap and I would recommendthis restaurant without hesitation. If taking this trip by taxi ensure you get a large one with plenty of room in the back otherwise you will be very cramped.
