It is walking distance along the malecon for avid walkers, two palaces to see, two parks and some interesting outdoor art.

If you like walking and exploring in non-touristy areas thisplace is a delight.....quiet.....on the water....and with some really lovely older, well maintained homes. At the very tip there is a restaurant....I believe privately owned which asindoor and out door seating, and specializes in sea food.

I always stay out on the Punta. Great views and clean, fresh air. Casas may be slightly more, but worth it as many have outdoor patios and views.

Punta Gorda is a peninsula running a long central Cienfuegos continuing from the Malécon. After a lovely walk and perhaps a stop at the Nautical Club ( 1 CUC admission) for a drink on the nice terrace ( music in the afternoon ) at the end of it is an amazing hotel which looks like it does not belong there, imported as is from Morocco. Beautifull sea views and sunset. Take that walk you will not regret it.

Punta Gorda was a lovely part of Cienfuego, especially after dark when the gorgeous colonial buildings look their best. It is a lovely area to walk around during the day (especially early morning or late afternoon when the sea views are beautiful) and there are a number of lovely buildings where you can get a drink or meal. These include the Sailing Club which is lovely for a drink overlooking the marina.

We saw Punta Gorda by day and we saw it by night as well but from the rooftop of Palacio e Valle and by night is much more interesting.

A lot of beautiful, stylish old buildings on the peninsula. At the point there is a nice public park with constant music. Nice place to hang out.

This is a thin bit of land with some beautiful old American (sorry!) houses looking out over the bay.

Some really beautiful houses along this stretch of land. Water on either side, although not very appealing water to swim in, I did see some locals swimming at sunset. Nice to be off the main streets and ended up being where my casa was, so a quiet retreat away from the town, but still able to walk to the main area of Cienfuegos.
