Good place to map out your hikes. The local guides include some very experienced hikers who know the peninsula well. This place is all about nature - read about the World Heritage Site award.

Right along the Shiretoko Cross Road (the road connecting Utoro and Rausu), this center is a nice place to take a break. You get to see lots of wildlife models, photoraphy and a large model of the Shiretoko peninsula landscape. You get to understand this World Heritage a bit more. Spend 20 minutes here.

Most visitors to Shiretoko National Park would go to Shiretoko National Park Visitor's Centre (for sure!). But many would miss this tourist centre and hence, miss many other less known but exciting travel options when visiting this area of Hokkaido. Give this tourist centre a visit, and get suggestions than usually only locals know about. There are many other stuff to do in nearby towns beside Shiretoko Five Lakes, the Cruise and the Shiretoko trails.
