Quite a brilliance, the way is has been constructed and doesn't feel like its 150 year old. The way it has been maintained is also worth mentioning.

A massive 'Scottish Baronial' construction in the middle of India!Interesting despite its new role as an educational establishment...short conducted tour. Would love to see the (apparently spectacular) cellars - and the upper floor(s).

This attraction is well worth a visit for its exterior and its place in history, both British and Indian. Visits are timed and overlarge but the large galleried entrance hall where you exit is impressive.

This is a very inpressive building built out of sandstone and granite high on a hill. It looks like a Scottish Castle and was the summer retreat for the British to escape the Delhi summers. Beautiful gardens and amazing entrance hall.

This colonial 'Lodge' (which is as good as a palace) is the place from which the Indian Subcontinent was ruled for more than 60 years. The building is still used for advanced research and is in top condition. Go early so that you do not miss the guided tour of the interiors. Without the guide, you will not be allowed inside the place. The gardens are also worth your time.

This superb British time mansion is an architectural wonder. As the name states, this was the residence of the erstwhile Viceroy. I like the style of the British, they did well for themselves!! The gardens surround the mansion on three sides, while the fourth side provides a wonderful sunset view. The teak-panelled interior is superb and worth a view. There is an entry fee of Rs 20/ - and cameras are permitted for a small sum. A guided tour is recommended and believe me it is conducted in a very professional manner. There is also a book shop and a cafe in the premises. The kids loved the trip, which surprised me no end. I did not know that they loved history so much.
