Every visit of mine to this temple has been always very fruitful. The deity has always blessed me by giving the alankar darshan which is generally done after the morning abhishekam or pooja or evening pooja. I had opportunity to witness the evening abhishekam to the linga of the goddess couple of times. With her blessings I have performed Chandika Homa here. The homa is performed very systematically in this temple. The temple is very cleanly maintained. On friday nights Kashayam is distributed as prasadam for devotees which has medicinal value. Saturdays and Sundays generally there will be some type of rathothsavam in the evenings which is worth a watch. The temple has ample accommodation facility. Free good food is served in the temple both in the mornings and evenings. You can get a beautiful view of the Kodachadri hills behind the temple during day times. Some of the well known politicians and great people are disciples of this goddess and visit her very often.

My first visit...Nice calm place ..best route by train to Mookambika road station and then a van/car trip to the temple premises..you will find plenty of cars waiting at the station. Plenty of lodges /restaurants near temple premise so no issue for boarding. Try and visit on off seasons to get earlier access.. as there a big queues normally.

I visited this temple on 28/1/2015. Here you can see Goddess in three different decorations. Goddess Saraswathi, Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Parvathi. By night 8.30 P.M. they give a medicinal liquid (Kashayam) as prasadam and it is generally believed that it cures the diseases. Goddess Mookambika herself gave this medicine to Sankaracharya when he felt tired while writing "Soundarya Lahiri ". A must to see by one and all. Here you are having special darshan tickets. (Rs.100/-). Better to visit this temple on working days like tuesdays to Fridays.

On festive occasions, the temple is quite crowded. On other days, darshan is fast and hassle-free.What needs to be improved is that the temple authorities need to guide tourists on how to go about buying the prasad / pooja and get the "kashaya" and "bhojan". A simple notice board giving this information would also suffice.

One feels blessed, visiting and praying in the Kollur Mookambika temple. Recommend one and all to pray here.Be ready for long queues. Temple is closed from 1230 to 4pm daily.Take a taxi if you are visiting from some place. If you are halting then few lodges are available, but away from the bus stand, so be ready to carry your luggage.Cars are allowed only to a point, then you have to walk. The walkway has zero lighting, so go in groups - the only lights are from tin shops on the way.The approach road is via the Mookambika wildlife sanctuary. All along the way from Udupi, the road (state highway, I suppose), lighting is zero along the highway, as anywhere in India. You'll understand the seriousness of driving through pitch-darkness wildlife notified motorable road, once you look behind your car, and see not a trace of light.Regardless of all of this the temple visit is a must.

the temple size is like mini Guruvayur. Staying facilities are good. Even fast food chain Adigas does excellent job. Drive to the temple is nice. Roads are not crowded.

We were 10+2 infants in our group went by train to Byndur by train and remaining 28 kms by taxi which was very reasonably charged. The hotels and lodges are also very much welcoming and fairly priced. They have decent facilities too to cater for all sectors. The temple was clean and tidy with very organised system for bookings and poojas. You wont feel yhat you are running out of time standing in queus. The only disappointment was we lost one of our bags with some coins and currency which we were carrying to devote in the temple. The authorities were so helping when we complained and they took us to check the cc cameras. We found that the bag was stollen by a man dressed like Sabarimala pilgrim (very surprisingly). We didn't make it an issue but thanked for the Temple authorities help. They were so polite, helpful and hospitable inspite of their hectic schrdule to organise and run the daily routine very smooth. Kudos to them!!!

The temple displays the art and culture from a very long time back from the time of the great sankaracharya as said, but it is beautiful, the people come there only go for the rituals, but the carvings in and around the temple is the most beautiful thing there. The structure of the total temple and surroundings is the architectural excellance of that time.
