Denmark's National Museum in Copenhagen has exhibitions from the Stone Age, the Viking Age, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance and Modern Danish History. Another intriguing must-see is the Huldremose Woman, whose well-preserved remains are estimated to date back to the first decade of the first century AD.

You can spend two hours here or two days depending on your interests. Found the prehistoric section long and quite laborious but the more modern history of Denmark I found fascinating. As it is free you can pick and choose what interests you

One of the most fascinating collections we have ever seen. Our trip to Denmark was heavily focused on the Viking-age and the National Museum of Denmark accrued such a vast amount and variety of things that we ended up spending half of the day there. A remarkable collection from ancient to modern and probably.Free admission, lockers for bags, cloakroom, etc. It is one of the best things to do in Copenhagen.

Great free way to spend an hour or two. Lots of things to look at and plenty of variety - something to interest everyone. Definitely worth a visit.

Free cloakroom, free lockers. So much to see, accidently spent all day there! Ancient to modern history - endearingly even covered elderly care. Great for all ages & accessibility excellent.

I spent a couple of hours here and could easily have spent more. Some really good exhibits and all very well explained (English and Danish). I didn't buy anything but there was plenty of choice in the shop.

Must do to see the huge ships and type of people who lived in Denmark and Scotland. .....................................
