We saw visited this place on our second trip to Nanchang. The first battle between the Communists and Chinese army occured in Nanchang. Most of the displays are signed only in Chinese but most of the display was pretty easy to follw. There are video screen with the pictures and facts about heros of the chinese revolution. It was a good visit. If you can go during the week not the weekend due to crowds.

Check out the monument's base to see some cool stone carvings from the communist revolution. Also, there's a fountain show with music and lights in the evening that is pretty cool.

This is the same thing as "Nanchang Bayi Square." The monument just happens to be at one end of the square. It is huge and quite impressive, no doubt, and in the center of town. Good bit of history. Right next to the biggest shopping street in the city as well - Zhongshan Lu.
