I visited the Miaoli Hakka Culture Park on the first day of Chinese New Year, February 19, 2015. They had activities outside the "museum complex". It really gave it a festive feel through the shows performed by dragon dancers and lion dancers. Inside the complex educated visitors about the Hakka culture: types of work they did, flowers in their fabric prints, etc. The exhibits had very good English explanations. There was also an area where you can buy Hakka food products such as Lei Cha (Lei Tea). I wished I had more time to explore.
