A kind friend of mine took me here somewhat 'by accident' (or more so, to surprise me). I had Longsheng Fallen Bridge on my hit list from Day 1 in Taiwan, but after looking up its transportation routes, it seemed impossible. Not to mention, all the locals that I spoke to didn't know what bridge I was referring to when I asked them. The road is small and windy. It's best if you are driving a scooter. Car is also possible but definitely, do not even bother public transportation (I'm not even sure that there's buses here). This is a very local scenic place with little around besides the three poles/remnants of the bridge. There's a little platform to take photos. Nearby, there are some local Hakka culture souvenir edibles that you can purchase. Most of the stalls are closed if the weather isn't that great (I went on a day where the rain was on and off). A couple of kilometers away, you can also check out an old train station that is no longer running. It is very pretty there with souvenir shops, restaurants, and you can even walk along the tracks and into the tunnel!

if you can call looking at a broken down bridge wonderful… the history about it is inspiring and the town around it is sweet. try to adventure the roads and go to the other side of the creek and find the rest of the broken bridge - it was a cool adventure
